When to Visit Indochina: Finding Your Best Time
Indochina offers amazing travel experiences all year round. The best time to visit depends on what you want to do and see. Generally, the dry season from November to April is popular for good weather. However, the rainy season from May to October also has its benefits, like fewer crowds and lower prices.
Indochina includes countries like Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia. Only Laos is landlocked; Vietnam has a long coastline of over 3,000 kilometers. The sea and monsoon winds greatly affect the weather each month. Mountain areas can have cool nights, but it never gets truly cold. A light sweater is usually enough after sunset. If you travel during the rainy season, a light rain jacket is useful.

Costs for flights and hotels can be higher during this time. Many travelers, especially couples and solo adventurers, choose this season to escape colder weather at home and enjoy the sun. An Indochina holiday is often a special trip, so the higher cost might be worth it for the best weather.
Traveling During Low Season (Rainy Season: May to October)
During the rainy season, you will find fewer tourists at popular sites. Prices for hotels and tours are often lower, and it's easier to find available rooms. While rain is more likely, it often comes as short afternoon showers, not all-day downpours.
For families, mid-summer is often when children have long school breaks. Many families still choose Indochina for a two to three-week holiday during this time. While beach activities might be limited, there are many other things to do. A refreshing rain shower can even be a welcome break during a busy day of sightseeing.
